Cruise in the Fjordland

We chose to do an overnight cruise in a small boat (12 people) in Doubtful sound a less visited and less touristy fjord. We thought small boat, less people, more friendly. And we were right it was a very nice group with 3 other young couples. I am not sure they appreciate their first experience of teething during the night though, but hey Lorelie has got 3 tooth now! Anyway the fjords are really amazing , definitely very wet (7m of rain each year!!! spread over 200 days...) the water is present every where with waterfalls and cascades, rain, sea. The silent is deep only disturbed by seagulls or other birds. It was a really nice experience and Elena enjoyed it despite being sick on the boat. Actually she even asked me when we will live on a boat, and when I mentioned to her that it might not be nice when the sea is rough she replied ;’ oh don't worry mum, we will take a few plastic bags or towel and I could be sick in them’ -sic-sigh...my girl is so practical... I will try to put together an album ,but the pictures are not really embracing the beauty of the place as the rain makes everything constantly misty, which is part of the charm but make the pictures look all blur. After that wonderful start of the year we headed off towards Clyde, near Alexandra to do a 5 days bicycle ride on a old railway track, very similar to the bristol bath cycling track except it is not all flat!!
